I do NOT take PayPal or any other on-line payment method.
I've been burnt by three different providers since the original
CheckFree system on CompuServe in 1986, and I figure that
three failures with no successes is more than enough.
A USPO money order will usually get
things shipped on the day payment is received or the following
business day.
A private Money Order, Cashier's Check or the like
will be treated just like a personal check, and a personal check,
company check or the like will delay shipment until the check
actually clears the bank (usually two weeks or less).
Email to winning bidders will go out within 48 hours of
the close of an auction asking for a shipping address and giving my payment
address. If the shipping cost needs to be figured after the auction for
any reason, then additional information may have to be exchanged to
arrive at a total cost.
Late payment may not be the fault of the buyer,
but unless arrangements are made for a delayed payment
I reserve the right to cancel the sale and relist the item
if payment hasn't arrived 10 days after we
agree on a total price. If I can't get a reasonable email
response or payment is late, I have to file a non-paying
bidder notice in order to receive a fee refund from eBay.
Back outs happen. I've never had to give anyone negative
feedback in more than 200 transactions on eBay, and I don't plan to
start with you. If you need to back out, please let me know within
a reasonable time after your bid, and certainly within a short time
after the close of the auction.
Returns also happen. If I make a mistake in the listing, I'll
happily refund all of your payment (bid and shipping costs). If you
made a mistake or don't want the item for any reason, I'll happily
refund your bid price minus eBay fees as long as the item is
returned promptly in the same shape as when shipped. Which brings up...
Insurance will be included in the shipping cost unless the buyer
specifically wants to skip it or it is not available. Unfortunately,
some international shipping methods do not offer insurance. In the
case where insurance is not purchased, I expect the buyer to accept
the risk for goods damaged or lost in shipment.
EBay feedback is a great way to build and maintain a good
reputation as a buyer and seller at auction. I'm happy to have a
perfect feedback record and it would hurt to get even one negative
comment. Because I feel this way, I have NEVER YET posted
negative feedback about another buyer or seller. I've often
skipped posting any feedback when I felt the buyer or seller did a
poor job handling their end of an auction. I have posted neutral
feedback stating how I was treated when I felt I was treated badly.
I'm willing to post negative feedback in the unlikely event that
I catch someone cheating and can't do anything else about it.
Please don't worry about an honest mistake getting negative
feedback from me -- it just won't happen.

Free advice: a useful piece of information I've picked up from
buying and selling on eBay is the value of postal money orders.
It turns out that a PMO is easier to cash than just about any other form
of money transfer, and at the same time it's about the safest to send.
Apparently few thieves want to mess with the Feds by stealing or forging
a PMO, but if one does go missing, then for $2.50 it can be traced by the
original buyer. Next time you buy a money order at a store or bank, ask
the seller what they charge to trace a lost or stolen MO. The answers I've
gotten range from a low of $15 up to $25 and even... "If it's lost,
it's just like cash. We can't help you!"
